58th HiRSE Seminar

On Tuesday, 17th November at 11:00 CET, Faruk Diblen from Netherlands eScience Center will join us at the HiRSE Seminar Series to talk about “AI Declaration Format and AI agent skills for Research Software Engineering.”

Abstract:

Generative AI is transforming Research Software Engineering, but it also introduces critical challenges for scientific integrity, reproducibility, and software sustainability. As open science policies and regulations like the EU AI Act evolve, transparently tracking the provenance of AI-generated code is shifting from a best practice to a strict requirement. We will tackle AI transparency in research workflows using the AI Declaration Format–a lightweight, machine-readable standard designed to document AI involvement directly within your codebase.
